Invisalign® and Invisalign® GO are teeth straightening treatments that use clear, removable aligner sets to gradually move the position of teeth. Invisalign treatment is a popular alternative to traditional braces that can be more comfortable and convenient, but it's not suitable for everyone.
To find out if you're a candidate for treatment with Invisalign or Invisalign GO, and book your appointment with our Mount Lawley dentists, call our team today on (08) 9227 8777 or book a consult with one of our dentists today.

The Invisalign system was developed by Align Technology to give more options to older teenagers and adults who want to straighten their teeth but don't want to wear braces.
Invisalign clear aligners are made from a specially engineered plastic that's designed to fit comfortably over teeth while also being virtually invisible.
The soft material and smooth edges make Invisalign aligners feel more comfortable and can cause less irritation than braces.
Book Consult
Invisalign clear aligners require a patient's compliance and a degree of dexterity to work. Treatment can often address the following orthodontic concerns:
Our dentists may also be able to correct some underbite and crossbite cases, depending on how much teeth movement is needed.
Generally, more complex issues require wearing conventional braces, as these exert more force on the teeth. Your dentist will assess your teeth and bite during a face-to-face examination and confirm whether Invisalign treatment is right for you.

Invisalign GO uses the same clear aligner sets as Invisalign does over a shorter duration, usually between 3 to 6 months.

Invisalign aligners are custom-made for a perfect fit. Each set applies slightly more force than the last to move teeth into alignment.
Treatment takes between 4 to 18 months, depending on how much movement is needed to achieve your desired outcome. When your aligners come out for the last time, we'll recommend you wear a retainer indefinitely to prevent teeth moving back.

Every dental treatment carries risks, for clear aligners these include short-term tenderness or discomfort, minor speech or saliva issues and a lack of patient compliance (not wearing aligners for long enough) that can lead to an undesirable outcome.
While not a risk, it's also important to know that once your aligners come out for the last time, you'll need to wear a night-time retainer indefinitely to keep teeth from relapse (shifting out of position).

Invisalign Go offers a shorter treatment time than full Invisalign with up to 20 aligner sets for suitable patients. Teeth straightening with Invisalign Go typicaly takes between 3 to 6 months on average however, most patients require more than 20 aligner sets to achieve their desired outcome.
Invisalign Go clear aligners can only move teeth from second pre-molar to second pre-molar (front 10 teeth), making them suitable for selected cases and orthodontic concerns.
Full Invisalign treatment can take between 6 months to 18 months, depending on case complexity, a patient's willingness to wear the aligners for a minimum of 22 hours a day (compliance), a patient's age and biology.
Teeth straightening is a precise process that needs the expertise of a qualified dental professional to carefully plan and monitor your results. The key reasons to see a dentist face-to-face for treatment include:
Our dentists have the relevant training and experience to assess your suitability for treatment. This is best done in a face-to-face comprehensive examination where we can identify and treat dental problems that need addressing prior to starting Invisalign.
In most Invisalign cases, you will have ceramic attachments bonded onto your teeth to help retain your aligners and encourage movement. Having these attachments placed requires a face-to-face appointment.
Similarly, if you have dental crowding, your plan may include IPR (interproximal reduction) to create enough space to straighten teeth and improve your bite.
Choosing online aligner treatment means that your teeth and gums can not comprehensively examined by a dentist in person. When you see a dentist face-to-face for Invisalign treatment, they can track your progress and ensure aligner sets are being changed when needed. They are also available for questions and concerns that require a visual assessment.
Over the years, Australian and New Zealand health authorities have issued consumer warnings against the dangers of using online companies for dental treatment in the absence of a physical visit. The president of the Australian Dental Association NSW explains “If treatment relies on imprints and records without the patient being personally examined, there’s a much greater risk that the treatment will not be successful."
