What is endodontic treatment?

Endodontic treatment involves treating teeth with a diseased dental pulp, such as a dental abscess. The infected soft tissue is removed from inside the tooth and replaced with a root canal filling that seals the tooth from future infection.

What are wisdom teeth?

Wisdom teeth are the last (third) molars to erupt in the mouth, usually between the ages of 17 and 25. There are usually four wisdom teeth, but not everyone gets them. As these teeth are less necessary, dentists may recommend wisdom tooth removal if a tooth becomes impacted or causes problems such as teeth crowding.

How much do veneers cost?

The cost of veneers depends on their size, the number of veneers you have and what material they're made from. Porcelain veneers cost more than composite veneers. At Mount Lawley Dental, veneers start from $300 per tooth for composite resin and from $1400 per tooth for porcelain.

How do I keep my mouthguard clean?

Clean your mouthguard under room temperature water and a cleaning solution to keep it in good condition. Avoid using hot water to rinse your mouthguard as it will warp it out of shape. By making sure you clean your mouthguard after every use, you’ll keep it free from staining and plaque build-up that can ruin the mouthguard and require you to replace it sooner than necessary.

Mount Lawley Dental has partnered with Terracycle to become your local Community Collection Hub for oral care waste.

Simply drop your waste off at our practice bin and we’ll collect and send it for recycling. Items to be recycled include:

Toothpaste tubes and caps
Floss containers
Toothbrushes
Electric toothbrush heads

Please note, we cannot recycle electric toothbrushes or cardboard packaging. Contact the team for more info or simply drop into our practice with your waste and we'll do the rest!

Yes. Our goal is to provide quality health care to all our patients in a timely manner. No-shows, late arrivals, and cancellations inconvenience our providers and other patients. Please be aware of our policy regarding missed appointments.

Any cancellation or rescheduling of an appointment made with less than 48 hours’ notice will result in a cancellation fee of $60. If you are more than 15 minutes late to your appointment, we may not be able to accommodate you. In this case, the same cancellation fee will apply. We will do our very best to reschedule your service for another time that is convenient to you.

Yes. We provide you with a comprehensive quote and treatment plan prior to going ahead with any dental treatment. We’ll even provide you with item numbers for treatment to check out-of-pocket expenses with your health insurer.

At Mount Lawley Dental, we offer a number of sedation options so you can get the treatment you need. These include oral sedation, inhalation sedation (also known as happy gas) and local anaesthetic. If your treatment is more complex or lengthy, we may refer you to our sister practice, EVP Dental for IV sedation, or arrange for your treatment to take place at Southbank Day Surgery under general anaesthesia.
