Oral Hygiene

Few daily practices are more important than maintaining good oral hygiene, something which is best achieved when you combine your daily home practices with a regular dental appointment every six months.

Daily Practices

We all know we must brush our teeth twice a day, but unfortunately many of us let our nighttime brushing ritual fall by the wayside every now and again. Don’t let this happen to you. Brushing your teeth twice a day is the absolute minimum you can do to maintain good oral hygiene, and ideally you’ll be brushing your teeth after every meal.

The same can be said for flossing; an activity which we, and all other dental professionals, swear by yet so many members of the general public have never been able to get into the habit of performing on a consistent basis. When you floss just once a day you’ll remove any larger food particles stuck between your teeth that weren’t caught by your toothbrush.

Professional Checkups

Much like visiting your doctor for a checkup, when you arrange for a dental checkup every six months you can rest assured that any early signs of oral infections, gum disease, or gingivitis will be picked up and treated right away.

When it comes to your oral hygiene, prevention is very much better than the cure. When you combine positive daily practices via regular brushing and flossing, and you attend a checkup every six months, you can be sure your oral hygiene is being looked out for, and in turn won’t cause you any expensive and painful problems later down the line.
